My passion for food started as a boy, inherited from mum who cooked everything from scratch - often with home grown ingredients. You might say I was raised with a passion for heathy home cooked meals.

At Leeds Metropolitan University I graduated with a BA HONS degree in Graphic Design. Whilst studying I paid my way through university in hospitality, working in the kitchen of a restaurant on Call Lane, where the head Chef recognised my natural flair for food and fuelled this with passion. It was only some years later that both disciplines honed at the same time would be combined.

Whilst pursuing a career in Graphic Design I felt more at home in the kitchen than the studio.  In 2006 I found my place as a Food Stylist and have not looked back since.

My experience spans the varying disciplines encompassed in the role as Food Stylist - stills, moving image, editorial, supermarket, branding image, food events, recipe development, recipe testing and prop sourcing. Always rising to the challenge and delivering first class imagery.

In the 10+ years of working professionally as a food Stylist I have worked household brands, supermarkets and small food producers alike.

I’m passionate about continuing to cook with new ingredients and cuisines. More recently complimenting my trade by leveraging my magpie like obsession for collecting kitchenalia, realised through prop sourcing.

I am available to discuss your requirements and welcome an opportunity to work with you: rob@foodstyli.st
